St. Francis Needs Your Help!
To be in ministry is to be called by the community to serve.
We have an urgent need for volunteers in these ministries:

Mother's Day Rose Sale Volunteers
mother & child On May 10 and 11, the Sacramento Life Center is sponsoring its annual Mother’s Day Rose Sale at St. Francis. Beautiful, long-stemmed roses, individually packaged, will be available for $5.00 after all Masses.

Imelda Schroeder is coordinating the rose sale and needs help after all the Masses that weekend. Please call her and offer your assistance. Thank You!

See bulletin for contact info.

Minister to Our Homeless Guests
homeless person Homeless not only for a room made of bricks but homeless from being rejected, unwanted, completely torn out of society . . .That unwanted one is my brother and my sister. . .We belong to each other. –Mother Teresa

As a Step Minister you will have the opportunity to serve as a welcoming presence for the homeless guests of the St. Francis Step Ministry one day a week from 6:00-7:30pm.

The Step Ministry helps our parish provide them with a safe, peaceful and private place to sleep in the Parish Center courtyard. This ministry is rooted in Scripture and responds to the call to welcome strangers, provide shelter to the wanderer, love our neighbor, and not turn away from the needs of others..

Companions Needed!
Consider walking as a companion with someone who is discerning a call to become a Catholic Christian. Time commitment: two hours/week (on Thursday nights or during a weekend Mass), usually for a year and a half.

Companions do not have to be either catechists or saints–just regular folks willing to be present to another on a consistent basis over a period of time. This is a wonderful way to learn more about your faith, to get to know another person in the parish, to grow in your ability to talk a little about how you experience God in your everyday life.

Companioning begins in April, when our parish will welcome into the catechumenate people who are inquiring into our faith.

More Information:
If you are interested in this very important ministry and in offering your support to those God is calling, please contact Sr. Peggy Chambers: (916) 443-8084 x103 or PeggyC@stfrancisparish.com. Thanks!
