Covenant of ShaRING: YOUR GIFT OF PRAYER

How Can I Share My Gift of Prayer?

  • Maybe at this point in my life I am a "holder" more than a "doer;" when I can give an important gift of healing to hold our community in prayer.

  • I can pray for our principal, teachers, school staff, and for our students and their families, and for our children in our parish children's faith formation programs and their catechists.

  • I can pray for our pastor, parish staff and all who minister in our parish.

  • I can pray for those in our parish who seek healing of mind, body, or spirit, or who have lost loved ones and specifically for those listed in the bulletin.

  • I can participate on our Healing Prayer team, e-mail prayer group.

  • I can use the bulletin as a "prayer booklet," praying for the groups who are meeting, attending parish events, etc.

  • I can pray for those who have no one to pray for them and have given up praying for themselves.

What is Our "Covenant of Sharing?

  • As disciples of Jesus, we are called together by God into community, as the body of Christ.

  • God enters into a covenant with us, promising to guide and gift us.

  • With all our talents, we help one another along the way and build up the reign of God.

  • Each one of us matters to God and to one another; the whole of our life matters, and we have something to offer-even when we are ill or in difficulties and serve others by graciously accepting their help.

  • God always sets before us new life, if we have eyes to see it. In ourselves we discover new hopes and dreams, and recognize possibilities-including way we can share, even in the middle of our busy lives.

May our walk with the risen Jesus enliven our dreams and give us the courage to risk sharing anew with each other and receiving the help that we offer to one another when we need it. —Sr. Peggy

Wherever we are, we're joined together as one body in prayer. We share our gifts, concerns, joy with one another, and at any time, we can share them with our loving God. Remembering your parish family in prayer makes a hugh difference—gives courage, vision, inspiration to your brothers and sisters who are working through their personal challenges and/or serving the parish in ministry.

Are you being called to pray with and for your fellow parishioners?
God does the Listening, Loving and Healing — all we do is say “yes” to being God’s instrument.

Members of the Healing Prayer Ministry make themselves available for a few minutes after Saturday or Sunday Mass to pray with and for fellow parishioners. Prayers are said with the Lord and under the seal of confidentiality.
