Ways to Help

COVENANT OF SHARING: YOUR GIFT OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Join with those who give generously and regularly to support parish operations (e.g. salaries, utilities, insurance). In addition to supporting parish operations, our generous parishoners and friends also support specific parish ministries and programs. Here are some specific ways you can provide financial support to St. Francis:

Outreach to the Homeless

Through our Step Ministry, St. Francis provides welcome, a safe overnight sleeping space, and a hot breakfast for sixteen homeless men and women 365 days of the year. This secure space, our Parish Center courtyard, ensures that they get a peaceful night of rest, away from the perils and disturbances of the street.

Assistance to the Needy

St. Francis helps individuals experiencing temporary hardships—such as eviction or their utilities being shut off or needing a bus pass to make a court date, return home, or visit someone in prison.

Building Fund

At St. Francis, we take seriously the responsibility of caring for our beautiful, historic church, so that we leave a legacy for future generations of parishioners and visitors. Our Building Fund allows us to make the many repairs and capital improvements required by a structure that is over 100 years old.

Pakistan Aid
Catholic Relief Services is on the ground in Pakistan distributing emergency supplies to thousands of people stranded in remote areas. CRS engineers are at work repairing damaged water systems. Once immediate needs are met, CRS staffers will help farmers and others resume their work and rebuild their lives.

In the meantime, CRS has asked us to be in solidarity with the suffering people of Pakistan through prayer. At this time, the U.S. Bishops have not asked for a diocesan-wide collection for Pakistan. However, Catholic Relief Services is accepting individual donations for the relief effort in the following Ways:

  • Online at www.crs.org
  • By phone at 1-800-736-3467
  • By mail at P.O. Box 17090, Baltimore, MD 21203-7090

Special Projects Giving

Parishioners and friends often ask if the parish has specific needs—for either items or projects. Individuals or groups can support the parish by completing one or more special projects through donating their time and/or financial resources. The parish benefits greatly, and the individuals receive a tax deduction if they desire.

All we are and all we possess individually is a gift that God has given us for our temporary use and for our use in helping others. Let us accept God's gifts graciously, cherish and tend them in a responsible and accountable manner, and share them in justice and love with others .

Watch the bulletin or check back here for special needs as they come up.
