CIC Catechists Need Your Help!
This year we have been blessed with a record 22 youth who will be going through the catechumenate year—either to be baptized, receive Confirmation and Eucharist, or to complete their Sacraments of Initiation.

We already have FOUR experienced catechists who "break open the Word" for these youth. Over a 10-month period (excluding holiday weekends), the catechists rotate a month of Sundays.

Will you consider volunteering to be an Assistant during 10 to 12 of these sessions over the next year? The requirements include fingerprinting (paid for by the parish) and a 1-1/2 hour online course on child abuse prevention.

On the Sundays that you were scheduloed, you would leave Mass (90% of the time at the 9:30 am Mass) after the homily when the catechumens are dismissed. You would also assist the youth at a Mass for the Liturgy of the Eucharist and receiving Communion,

Please contact Georgie Saydak with questions or to volunteer (443-8084 x112 or GeorgieS@stfrancisparish.com).

Preschool Program Needs Your Help!
Teacher and Children One of the opportunities we like to offer families is a Preschool program during the 9:30a.m. Mass, from mid-September through mid-May, with holiday weekends off. We can only offer a Preschool program with the help of good folks with generous spirits, willing to work with and keep these little ones happy and safe.

If you would like to help make the Preschool program a reality for this year's 3- and 4-yhear-olds, please consider being part of a team of two volunteer Preschool catechists for about 25 Sundays. Catechists teams can either co-teach or rotate Sundays. Experience is welcome but not required. Fingerprinting (paid for by the parish) and a 1-1/2 hour online course on child abuse prevention are required. Teen helpers are scheduled to assist in the class for each Sunday.

We provide a curriculum and catechists manual geared for that age group. Please contaqct Georgie Saydak with questions or to volunteer (443-8084 x112 or GeorgieS@stfrancisparish.com).

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
children's hands We invite your children (K-6th grades) to participate in our CLOW program at 9:30 a.m. Mass. This program is offered year-round except during summer. No registration is required, and it's free.

Children are dismissed just after the opening prayers and go with an adult presider to the Parish Center Chapel to hear the Word proclaimed and explained in more age-appropriate language. During CLOW our children's choir sings. The children return during the Preparation of the Gifts.

Parents are welcome to accompany their children to the Parish Center Chapel during the Liturgy of the Word and then return with them for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
